3. FS Justin Simmons

Another Denver Bronco, Justin Simmons can make the same impact that Williams can, but perhaps at an even higher level. He’s picked off 12 passes over the past three seasons and plays the run very well. He’s also an excellent tackler, which is something that would be quite welcome in the Cleveland secondary.

Simmons played on the franchise tag last year with an $11.4 million cap hit. He should get quite a bit more than that per season on his next deal, but as could be the case with more than a few star players this offseason, perhaps he’ll sign a cheaper one or two-year deal so that he can cash in when the cap skyrockets. That’s how the Browns were able to land Jack Conklin for just $14 million per season, and the cap didn’t even decrease from 2019 to 2020.

He won’t come cheap, but Simmons will be worth what he gets paid. Playing for a Super Bowl contender for a year or two and hitting the market again afterward could be a great option for him. It would certainly make sense for Cleveland, provided the team creates the salary cap space necessary to sign him.
