Round 1, Pick 4: Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State

This is another pick where John Dorsey went against the popular crowd. Bradley Chubb was a name many wanted and they salivated at the idea of him starting across from Myles Garrett.

However, Dorsey took Denzel Ward from Ohio State which really made Cleveland fans excited. Ward came in with the potential to be a No. 1 cornerback in the NFL and has lived up to that.

The only thing that keeps this from being an A-plus is the struggles he has had with durability. But when he’s on the field, Ward is one of the best in the game.

Grade: A

Round 2, Pick 33: Austin Corbett, G, Nevada

For the third time in as many picks, Dorsey surprised us with his selection. But for the first time in those three picks, he whiffed badly.

At No. 33, Dorsey took Austin Corbett who appeared in just 14 games total for the Browns with one start. He never took over as a starting guard and in 2019, he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams for a mere fifth-round pick.

What’s made this pick even more infuriating is that he’s actually become a starter for the Rams which could mean the fault of this one falls on the staff. This should be an F overall, but Corbett’s ability to start in L.A. means Dorsey was at least partially right. We’ll compromise with a D.
