3. Caleb Farley – Cornerback, Virginia Tech

Perhaps no one has lost more stock in this draft than Caleb Farley, a cornerback from Virginia Tech.  Some have him as a top 10 to 15 pick, and others have him at the end of the first round.

Farley has the size at 6-foot-2, 197 pounds, and the speed to be a number one corner in the NFL, but there just hasn’t been enough production for my liking.

Keep in mind, he only had one full season in college. Although he had a sensational season, we have seen far too many other players that have had the one-and-done season. I’m just afraid that could be the case with Farley.

Additionally, he has some injury concerns that include a recent back issue as well that has him sliding. Farley tends to get handsy which will draw a lot of flags at the next level, and he is another guy who struggles to tackle.

The Cleveland Browns certainly may have an interest at cornerback in round one as there continue to be concerns with Greedy Williams, but Farley is not the guy. I would much rather see them take a guy like Jaycee Horn or Greg Newsome who have a better resume.
