2. Kadarius Toney – Wide Receiver – Florida

The one position that continues to come up as a first-round option for the Browns in 2021 is a receiver. And while I still think that Berry is better suited to continue to fix the defense, there is a definite possibility of seeing a receiver taken at No. 26, especially given the high contract dollars owed to Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham.

Kadarius Toney is one of the more dynamic players in this draft because of his speed and quickness. He is another guy that is mocked in the first round by some, and even in the middle of the second round by others.

While he has the potential to be a big playmaker, he isn’t a great fit for the Browns. The team already has JoJo Natson to return kicks and run jet sweeps, and Toney’s limitation on the route tree is too much of a concern.

There is a very good chance that he will always be a slot guy that can run a streak and return kicks.  While that may be valuable to some teams, I just don’t think he is the right fit. The Browns need a guy with his quickness and speed, but someone that can run every route in the playbook.

I would be far more excited with a guy like Rashod Bateman in the first round, or Elijah Moore or Terrace Marshall in the second round.
