4 Round 1 targets Cleveland Browns should pass on

1. Levi Onwuzurike– Defensive Tackle, Washington

After the release of Sheldon Richardson, the Cleveland Browns could likely be in the market for another defensive tackle. The question is, do they go that route in round one.

If so, there is a good chance that Levi Onwuzurike will be on the board.

Onwuzurike opted out of the 2020 season but flashed in his 2019 season and at the senior bowl in 2020.  Will Onwuzurike be a great NFL player?

Possibly, but he’s not a great fit, and he appears to be the exact same player Larry Ogunjobi was.

Onwuzurike will show flashes of greatness when it comes to interior pass rush, and he has extreme athleticism for the position. But at the same time, he can get pushed around in the run game and struggles with gap discipline which can lead to gashes in the run game.

While the Browns have a need at the position, they need someone more equipped to stop the run with more consistency on every down.

Onwuzurike would be a guy worth taking if he slipped to the second (which is unlikely), but I’d far more prefer Christian Barmore in round one or Tommy Togiai in a later round.
