After suffering a torn ACL, Odell Beckham, Jr. is back to running routes and his Cleveland Browns teammate Jarvis Landry likes what he’s seen from him

The Cleveland Browns don’t report to mandatory OTAs until June 15 but the offense has already been working out together in Austin, Texas. And one of the names that were out there was wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr.

What makes his presence significant is the fact that he’s making his way back from a torn ACL suffered in Week 7 of the 2020 season. He’s been working hard to get back and while there were videos of him running on a treadmill, the Austin workouts happened to be the first time he was seen running routes and making cuts.

Not only is this huge progress in itself, but teammate Jarvis Landry says he looks even better than he did last season.

"“He’s even better than he was last year,” Landry said about OBJ via Nate Ulrich of the Beacon Journal."

Landry and OBJ have a long history as the two stars entered the NFL together in 2014 after playing together at LSU. They remained close friends despite being on different teams but in 2019, they were able to team back up.

OBJ was traded from the New York Giants to the Browns that offseason which was one year after Landry was traded from the Miami Dolphins to Cleveland.

They each put up 1,000-yards receiving that year but it never felt as though they were hitting their potential, thanks in large part to the struggles that Freddie Kitchens had as a first-year NFL coach. That led to huge expectations in 2020 when Kevin Stefanski took over but a slow start as the team adapted to the offense was capped off with the ACL tear suffered by Beckham.

Now with him feeling like himself again, the excitement is back as we all eagerly await to see how he and the offense will look in 2021. And if Landry is to be believed, this could be a lot of fun.
