The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including Peter Schrager saying the roster has ‘no flaw’

Travis Kelce turned some heads recently when he decided to not only say that the Cleveland Browns were contenders in the AFC, but that they were also neck and neck with his own team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Some have suggested he was being overly complimentary since he was in Cleveland (his hometown) as a participant in Jarvis Landry’s celebrity softball game. But others think he was spot-on.

One such person is Peter Schrager of ‘Good Morning Football” who said that not only was Kelce correct but that the Cleveland roster simply has “no flaw.” A story from a Chiefs-centric site looks at this compliment from Schrager as the lead piece in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Peter Schrager says Travis Kelce is right: ‘there is no flaw’ in Browns — John Dixon, Arrowhead Pride

"“Schrager said that in his view, the team’s excellence starts at the top with head coach Kevin Stefanski, who rejects the old-school approach.”"

Schrager had a lot of praise for the Browns and he’s right that it all starts with Kevin Stefanski. Yes, players such as Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry helped change a lot of how this team acts on the field but it was the leadership of Stefanski that turned them into a winning franchise. Now armed with an even better roster in 2021, Stefanski should be able to do even more this year.

Troy Hill one of the best slot defenders in the league — Jared Mueller, Browns Wire

"“The addition of Troy Hill can sometimes go under the radar due to the shadow of the John Johnson III’s signing with both coming over from the Los Angeles Rams.”"

It’s easy to forget Troy Hill is joining the Browns because of all the talent they added on that side of the ball. However, he’s one of the more important additions and has proven to be one of the best in the game when it comes to defending receivers in the slot.

Nick Chubb, Denzel Ward both “want to stay in Cleveland” — Thomas Moore, Dawgs by Nature

"“It was a rare instance where the Browns actually wanted to sign one of their draft picks to a second contract, rather than being relieved a player’s contract was finally coming to an end. That experience will be repeating itself fairly soon as Berry is now facing the prospect of dealing with extensions for a trio of players from the 2018 draft class in quarterback Baker Mayfield, cornerback Denzel Ward and running back Nick Chubb.”"

Things have been changing with the Browns. Now that they have been hitting on some picks, they’re starting to want to keep their players in town. And since they’re winning, the players are more than happy to wear the orange and brown. It’s a new day in Cleveland and that’s a wonderful thing.
