1. Cleveland is a Destination

One of the most exciting things to come out of camp is what a destination Cleveland has become. For so long guys would only come here if they knew they would get paid. Now, star players are being drawn to the organization because of the talent, and quick culture change of the organization.

This week, Nick Chubb and Denzel Ward, both made it be known that they would like to be in Cleveland for the entirety of their career if things work out. It’s always great to keep your own, but it’s even better when it is guys as talented as those two.

Ward is under his rookie deal through 2022, but if healthy for a full season, expect Andrew Berry to tie him up for a long time. His biggest concern right now is injuries.

Chubb only has one year left because there is no fifth-year option with a second-round pick. Chubb is the best pure runner in the league and is a top-five all-around running back. The issue will be his price tag.

If he is willing to stay in Cleveland for a reasonable contract, I think Berry does it. If he demands top running back money (which he could get on the open market), you may see the team go in another direction.

Landing guys like John Johnson, Troy Hill, and Anthony Walker just wouldn’t have happened in the past because of the losing mentality.

The Browns may not win a Super Bowl in 2021, but the organization is certainly trending in the right direction with no looking back.
