The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including an update on two players injured in the preseason opener
The main goal of the preseason for every team is to stay injury-free. Unfortunately for the Cleveland Browns that didn’t happen in their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
While they held out their primary starters to keep them from being hurt, the Browns did see linebacker Mack Wilson suffer a shoulder injury. Also hurt was Stephen Carlson, the No. 4 tight end who the team really likes as a receiver.
As of Sunday night, Wilson did not have a timetable to return but the team expects Carlson to be done for the season due to his knee injury.
Those stories and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.
Cleveland Browns News
"“Browns tight end Stephen Carlson, a promising young player who the club really likes, suffered what’s likely a season-ending knee injury Saturday night against the Jaguars, a league source said.”"
It’s never easy seeing anyone go down but it has to be especially frustrating for Wilson who was injured early in 2020 and never really seemed to get back to full strength. For Carlson, it’s also hard to watch since he’s a young player on the rise and has proven he deserves a bigger role.
"“Owusu-Koramoah finished with eight tackles, including a sack and another two for loss.”"
After missing time due to COVID-19, JOK made up for the lost time. He was flying all over the field and proved that he was well worth the second-round pick Cleveland used to acquire his rights in the draft.
After just 1 game, JOK proves he deserves time with starters
DPD’s Grant Puskar was another one who was impressed with Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. He says that after just one preseason game he proved that he needs some reps with the first team to show what he can do against starting-caliber players.

For many of these young players, the preseason is all about proving they belong in the NFL. Whether it will help them make the Browns or another team (should they be waived) these five players raised their hopes of making a roster one day.
