The Cleveland Browns continued signing players to their practice squad into Thursday and now we take a look back and rank their three best additions

On Tuesday, August 31, all NFL teams had to cut their rosters down to 53 players. This left many players up for grabs and the Cleveland Browns ended up losing a couple of their own guys including KhaDarel Hodge and Colby Gossett.

As for the rest of the players they let go in order to get to 53, the Browns were able to bring back several of them to their practice squad. They also went for a couple of players from other rosters as they filled out the majority of their 16-man unit.

Here we look at all of the signings and rank the three best moves Cleveland made when filling out their 2021 practice squad.

Cleveland Browns best practice squad signing No. 3: David Moore, OG/C

This isn’t the first time the Browns tried to land David Moore who was undrafted out of Grambling this offseason. Originally, Moore signed with the Carolina Panthers after the draft but early in August, he was waived.

Several teams were trying to land him, including Andrew Berry and the Cleveland Browns. One of the other teams to put in a claim was the New York Jets, who were ahead of the Browns in the waiver priority.

Moore didn’t last with the Jets either and then he went unclaimed when he was part of the original round of cuts. Then on Thursday, the Browns added Moore and cornerback Tim Harris to their practice squad.

After showing out at the Senior Bowl, Moore was awarded the top linemen award. He now brings versatility to Cleveland since he can perform as both a guard and center. Bringing him in to work with Bill Callahan could be exactly what the young man needs to reach his potential.
