Week 1 – Browns at Kansas City

As mentioned above, this is an extremely tough draw for the Browns in Week 1. With up to seven new starters on defense, do you really want to start with the powerful offense of the Kansas City Chiefs? You know what they say, if you want to be the best, you must beat the best.

I do think the Browns will be able to keep this close because of their powerful run game, but I am worried about the back half of the defense. I know they are substantially better than last season, but it’s going to take them some time to gel as a unit.

Truthfully, I’m not mad about losing this one. It’s always great to start a season with a win, but this will be ammunition for when the Browns see the Chiefs again in the playoffs.

Score – Kansas City 31, Browns 24
Current record 0-1

Week 2 – Texans at Browns

Coming off a loss and this being the home opener, this becomes a must-win game for the Cleveland Browns early in the season. Luckily, they look to face Tyrod Taylor instead of DeShaun Watson, but this will still be a team with some firepower.

The energy in the stadium will be great, and Kevin Stefanski will have this team laser-focused. With all of that working together, I see a great showing from the Browns in week two. Look for them to score a lot of points and prove their defense is for real.

Score – Browns 28, Texans 17
Current record 1-1

Week 3 – Bears at Browns

The season could get interesting very quickly with this matchup. Will Justin Fields have taken over for the Bears at quarterback by this point? Either way, the Bears have a tremendous defense and it will be the toughest task for the Browns offense at this point in the season.

I fully expect to see Fields in this game, but that doesn’t concern me a ton. The Browns will have to be careful to contain him, but Myles Garrett and Jadaveon Clowney will make his life tough. The Browns will find a way to grind out just enough points to get this one done.

Score – Browns 24, Bears 20
Current record 2-1
