Cleveland Browns: Vikings player to watch No. 3 – Justin Jefferson, Wide Receiver

The Vikings have two fantastic receivers in Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson. Both are dangerous, but I think Jefferson could be the bigger issue on Sunday. While Thielen is more of a possession guy and third-down target, Jefferson is the burner who can get vertical and create a big play.

In just three games this year, Jefferson has 20 receptions to go with 254 yards and two touchdowns. By far his best game of the season was last week where he had nine catches for 118 yards and a touchdown.

Jefferson will get a lot of snaps against Greg Newsome (hoping he can play), as well as Troy Hill in the slot. Both guys have the speed to keep up with Jefferson, but his precise route running could cause some issues.

With the success of rushing the passer last week, expect defensive coordinator, Joe Woods, to once again tighten up coverage. If the Browns don’t get home on every single play, there’s a risk that a guy like Jefferson could bust a big one.

Big plays are always a risk, and I for one am tired of watching a team march down the field seven yards at a time. Don’t forget, we have a guy by the name of Joe Johnson patrolling the middle of the field who is pretty good as well.

Getting pressure on Kirk Cousins and not allowing Jefferson to get in a groove will be key to slowing him down.
