Cleveland Browns stud: David Njoku, Tight End

Coming into this game, David Njoku had just seven receptions but it was clear, they wanted to get him the ball more against Los Angeles. Njoku caught the first pass of the game, which went for nine yards.

Following a couple of runs, Baker Mayfield again went to Njoku, hitting him for a 22-yard gain. On their second drive, it was again Njoku who got things rolling as he and Mayfield connected on a 31-yard pass where the tight end took a short pass from No. 6 and found an opening in the defense for the huge gain.

The ball kept finding No. 85 who had a team-high in receptions and yards, finishing with seven catches for 149 yards including a 71-yard touchdown.

Cleveland Browns Dud: Deep ball defense

Grant Delpit and A.J. Green had a miscommunication that resulted in Mike Williams scoring from 72-yards out. Green had just broken up a pass on second-and-10 which gave the Browns a shot at getting the ball back with a three-point lead.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t stop the Chargers as Green let Williams get behind him, and it looked as though he expected help deep from Delpit but it was not there.

This led to both players running after Williams to no avail as he put the Bolts back on top 13-10. There were several other times the deep coverage wasn’t there and while it wasn’t always on Delpit, the secondary was bad at stopping the deep ball.
