The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including the Amari Cooper trade receiving rave reviews

Saturday was a huge day for the Cleveland Browns as they added Amari Cooper in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys. In order to get the Pro Bowl wideout, Cleveland only gave up a fifth-round pick while swapping sixth-round selections with Dallas.

Unsurprisingly, this move has been applauded for the Browns as they landed an excellent wide receiver while giving up next to nothing. Conversely, the Cowboys are being bashed for the move since they allowed themselves to be put in a position where they didn’t have the money to pay one of their best players.

That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Amari Cooper trade grades: Browns get high mark for giving up little, Cowboys don’t pass test — Jeff Kerr, CBS Sports

"“The Browns needed to improve at wide receiver, an opportunity they couldn’t pass up when Cooper became available. Regardless how Cooper fits in Kevin Stefanski’s offense, the Browns only gave up a pair of Day 3 draft picks to improve at the position compared to how their depth chart looked last year.”"

Kerr gave the Browns an A- for the trade while hitting the Cowboys with a D. He did say they’re taking on a massive contract but Cooper has been a top-10 receiver, which makes it worth it — especially when you consider the cost to acquire him.

The Browns are still exploring a trade for Deshaun Watson, and will have to offer multiple 1st-round picks, Baker Mayfield and maybe other players — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"“The Browns, who have been doing their due diligence on Deshaun Watson for months, continue to explore a trade for the controversial quarterback sources tell cleveland.com, but must be prepared to surrender multiple first-round picks, Baker Mayfield and possibly other players.”"

With Deshaun Watson discovering he won’t face criminal charges, the market has finally opened up for the talented quarterback and the Browns are one of the teams that are interested. It will cost a lot but having an elite quarterback is often worth the high price.

Browns: What Amari Cooper trade means for Deshaun Watson chances

Cleveland is apparently in the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes and the fact that they added Amari Cooper could help convince him to waive his no-trade clause to join the Browns.
