Cleveland Browns player No. 2 to fall to them in the draft: George Pickens, WR, Georgia

Georgia wideout George Pickens seems to be the hot name these days when you chat with Browns fans about a wide receiver they’d love to see wearing the orange and brown uniform on Sundays. He’s one of a very deep class of wide receivers this year. He has first-round pick written all over him, but he’s been very inconsistent and injury-prone in his years at Georgia.

But his size, standing at 6-3 and his ability to be the wide receiver to take on opposing team’s defenders in man-on-man coverage can be intriguing for a team like the Browns that are still looking at strengthening their wide receiver room.

He came to Georgia as a freshman and lit up the competition in the tough SEC. He pulled in 49 catches for 727 yards and added eight touchdowns. He suffered a knee injury this past season but came back at the very end and competed, even grabbing one pass in the National Championship game against Alabama for 52 yards.

It could have an instant impact on the Browns and be ready to contribute from day one. If he’s there I’d imagine Cleveland will land their wide receiver in the draft, and they would be getting one who can make some great plays.
