The Cleveland Browns had a nice NFL Draft, and their new players are preparing for rookie camp this weekend. Here are bold predictions for each draftee.

There’s always a lot of hype after the NFL Draft as we start projecting what teams are going to look like with their new prospects coming aboard. The Cleveland Browns waited until the third round this year to take cornerback Martin Emerson off their board first.

They then went and drafted eight more talented college athletes. Usually, there are hits and misses with any draft. Many late-round picks don’t do so well with their shelf life. Even though there’s that excitement initially, by the time the season rolls around, some of those picks don’t even make it to the final 53-man roster.

With that being said, the draftees this time by the Browns seem like a solid group, and potentially all could make the team. Let’s look at each player a little bit more as I give you one bold prediction for the player as they suit up in the Brown and Orange and represent Cleveland for the first time.

One bold Cleveland Browns draft pick prediction: CB Martin Emerson

The Browns drafted Emerson at No. 68 in a bit of a surprise to the rest of the world. Though some will say the team knows what they are doing, I’m still a bit perplexed at moving back from No. 44 to then take a cornerback, that by most draft projections wasn’t even a top 20 prospect at the corner position. The Browns really don’t need another cornerback; however, they did trade Troy Hill back to the Los Angeles Rams after the drafting of Emerson.

The new cornerback has good length at 6’1 and is considered a very aggressive back who can use his size to cover wide receivers, and on film, he certainly looks like a talented player who has potential. The Browns like drafting players that are still a work in progress, but it still seems like a stretch taking him with their first pick of the draft.

My bold prediction for Emerson is that he’ll intercept two passes this season. He only had one in his whole career at Mississippi State but he’ll get a few opportunities this season and make a name for himself on the squad. Denzel Ward had three picks in his rookie campaign and neither Greedy Williams nor Greg Newsome II had one in their rookie seasons.
