Cleveland Browns Round 6 Pick: Ben Sims, TE, Baylor

Kevin Stefanski and the Cleveland Browns love their tight ends. They don’t use them as much in the passing game as the narrative says, but they still enjoy having several talented options at the position.

Heading into this season, David Njoku will finally be the starter again. He should have been in 2021 but that’s a discussion for another day. Behind him is Harrison Bryant, who is solid in the passing game. Behind them, they have a lot of unknowns which made it seem odd they ignored the spot in the draft.

That’s not the case here as they use their Round 6 pick on Ben Sims of Baylor. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 253-pounds, Sims has steadily improved every season for Baylor and put up 361 yards and six touchdowns last year.

Cleveland Browns Round 7 Pick: Deuce Vaughn, RB, Kansas State

With their final pick in this mock, the Browns add another speedster to the running back room. Deuce Vaughn from Kansas State is listed at just 5-6 and 172-pounds but he had over 1,400 yards on the ground and put up 468 yards as a receiver.

Cleveland has the deepest running back room in the NFL with Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, D’Ernest Johnson, Jerome Ford, and Demetric Felton on the roster.

However, both Hunt and Johnson are slated for free agency in 2023.

Cleveland could still be an elite ground team with Chubb and Ford but would need more depth and Vaughn could be a great change of pace option.
