3 Cleveland Browns who will struggle to start 2022 season
By Jacob Roach
Not every player has a great season from start to finish let’s take a look at 3 Cleveland Browns who will struggle to start the 2022 season.
We are just over a month away from the Cleveland Browns reporting for training camp and being one step closer to football returning. By then the Browns will likely have some resolution on who the quarterback will be and for how long in 2022. Regardless of who is at quarterback this team has as much talent as any other they have fielded since its return in 1999.
But there are a few players the Browns will count on this season that may take a little while to get going this season. Let’s take a look at three players that may have good seasons but will struggle to start the year.
Cleveland Browns player to struggle to start the year no. 3- Perrion Winfrey, defensive tackle
It’s hard not to like and root for new Browns defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey, who had one of the most electric introductory press conferences I have ever seen. But some fans may need to pump the breaks on the expectations, at least to begin his rookie season.
Winfrey has the skill, and upside for days, but you have to remember he was taken in the fourth round for a reason. Looking at the senior bowl you see a dominant player, something you don’t see consistently on tape. At times you see a guy that can get dominated just as easily as he can sometimes dominate. He struggles mightily in run defense and plays with too much inconsistently to be a major contributor on day 1.
Ultimately I think Winfrey will be a contributor this season and have a solid career for the Browns, but the first few months will likely have growing pains.
