The Cleveland Browns will have some tough decisions to make when trimming their roster to 53 players and these could be their 3 toughest cuts to make

Training camp is underway for the Cleveland Browns as they’re working to prepare for the 2022 NFL Season. So far, there hasn’t been much action with players practicing in shorts and no pads, but these sessions are still critical as the coaching staff decides who they want on their 53-man roster.

These decisions are always tough and so once again, the Browns will have to weigh each and every option when they make their cuts. With that being said, here are three players that could find themselves on the chopping block, that the front office won’t want to say goodbye to.

3. Sheldon Day, DT

A preseason star last year, Sheldon Day didn’t originally make the team. However, he was eventually called up from the practice squad and made his Cleveland debut in Week 6. He recorded five tackles that day against Arizona and finished the year playing seven games recording 21 tackles and one sack.

Day was not only productive in his short stint during the 2021 season, but he also plays a position of need for the Browns. Right now, Cleveland looks ready to start some combination of Taven Bryan, Jordan Elliott, and Tommy Togiai. They also have rookie Perrion Winfrey, who has a lot of talent but is known more for his pass rushing than his ability to stuff the run.

While Day might be the most well-rounded in the bunch, the rest might have more potential. It will be hard for him to beat out some of these players who Cleveland invested heavily in, plus they could end up liking what undrafted rookie Glen Logan brings as a run-stuffer.
