Overrated Player No. 4 – Ronnie Harrison

Two years ago, no one was a bigger Ronnie Harrison fan than I was. He needed a fresh start from Jacksonville and he really lived up to his first-round talent. In some games where Myles Garrett missed time, he was the second-best player on the defense behind Sheldon Richardson.

However, after the 2021 season, I was shocked to see the Browns bring him back. I see a lot of effort issues on the field, and he has far too many after-the-whistle fouls that can be killers. In my opinion, he is also a guy that will make a few huge plays behind the line of scrimmage, but then give up a 70-yard touchdown the next play in busted coverage.

It appears the Browns got him at a reasonable price, but it tells me the safety market was extremely thin and GM Andrew Berry didn’t want to overpay. With John Johnson and a healthy Grant Delpit, I think Harrison is the third safety on the roster. In the Joe Woods defense, he will get a good number of snaps, but I’m afraid his attitude could sour even more if he isn’t seeing the field.

Harrison seems to be that one-hit wonder, and I’m afraid the Browns kept him around one year too long.
