3 Browns offensive players that shined in preseason opener

No. 1: Jerome Ford, running back
The Browns have what is likely the best running back room top to bottom in the entire league, and Jerome Ford showed some nice ability Friday. Many have considered him the Kareem Hunt replacement because of the similar play style and he backed that up. He had great burst and second-level speed when he was able to climb to the next level and turn the jets on.
He showed some solid patience and vision in some situations to let the play develop before committing to a hole. There was a really nice run where it was all bottled up on the inside and Ford was patient and able to see that if he bounced it outside it would go from no gain to positive yardage. It was nice to see his patience and vision as that was one of my knocks on him coming out of college.
He also showed up in the passing game making a really nice touchdown grab where he had to go up and fully extend to get the ball. That play, in particular, reminded me of Kareem Hunt, obviously, he isn’t on Hunts level yet but you could clearly see why the Browns drafted him with his play in Jacksonville.
