Linebacker (6):

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
Anthony Walker
Jacob Phillips
Sione Takitaki
Dakota Allen
Tony Fields II

Cleveland clearly has a type at linebacker. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Jacob Phillips are both sideline-to-sideline guys that can cover a lot of ground in a hurry. They want to see those two start alongside one another but they can also put Anthony Walker on the field, who is a more traditional linebacker who is always around the ball.

Sione Takitaki is an underrated defender who excels against the run. He’s joined by Dakota Allen who has been good in the preseason and Tony Fields, who is similar in size to JOK and has a lot of potential.

Cornerback (5):

Denzel Ward
Greg Newsome II
Greedy Williams
Martin Emerson
A.J. Green

The Browns defense is going to have some issues when it comes to stopping the run but they’re built to shut down the passing attack. Denzel Ward just earned a huge extension and Greg Newsome looked the part as a rookie first-round pick in 2021.

Greedy Williams is entering the final season of his rookie contract and while his future might be elsewhere, he’s going to be motivated to prove he’s capable of starting somewhere.

Martin Emerson was their top pick this season and he’s been great in camp and in the preseason. He got banged up some against the Eagles but should be fine.

A.J. Green is a former undrafted free agent who has developed into a solid defensive back and rounds out the depth chart at corner.
