Week 4, Oct. 2: Browns at Falcons

The first four games of the season are the soft spot for Cleveland and that culminates in a visit to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to take on the Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta was the other team heavily pursuing Deshaun Watson and after he chose Cleveland, they seemed to punt on the season. Their roster isn’t impressive and they’re going with Marcus Mariota under center. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt should have their way and the defense will enjoy picking on their subpar receiving corps.

Prediction: Cleveland 28, Atlanta 10

Week 5, Oct. 9: Browns vs. Los Angeles Chargers

This is where things start to get tough. The Los Angeles Chargers are one of many stacked teams in the AFC and while the Browns took them to the limit last season, it’s hard to see Jacoby Brissett winning a shootout against Justin Herbert. This one could get away from the home team in a hurry.

Prediction: Los Angeles 41, Cleveland 24

Week 6, Oct. 16: Browns vs. New England Patriots

Last year, it seemed as though Cleveland thought they could look past the New England Patriots. The result was one of the more lopsided losses of the season for the Browns.

They’ll be better prepared this time and Brissett will play his best game of the season against the team that originally drafted him.

Prediction: Cleveland 24, New England 20

Week 7, Oct. 23: Browns at Ravens

The AFC North is so tough. It’s hard to see Cleveland sweeping any of these teams and it feels as though their trip to Baltimore could be tough. The Ravens win this one — narrowly.

Prediction: Baltimore 24, Cleveland 11

Week 8, Oct. 31: Browns vs. Cincinnati (MNF)

All offseason, Browns fans have been boasting that the Bengals haven’t beat them in the past two years. They also point out that even though they made the Super Bowl that Cleveland is in Cincinnati’s heads since players such as Ja’Marr Chase have been focused on them.

That’s not a good thing. Having a team that nearly won the Super Bowl focused on shutting you up is not a positive in any way. On Monday Night Football, on the road, the Bengals are going to try and make a statement at the expense of their in-state rivals.

Prediction: Cincinnati 27, Cleveland 24

Record in October: 2-3
Overall Record: 4-4
