No. 2: Nick Chubb, RB

Maybe this choice is too obvious, but Nick Chubb needs to stand out in this big first-week matchup. He’s considered one of the leaders of this team and over the previous four seasons he has stepped up many times to help seal some victories. He will need a significant moment or two in this contest to help this club get that “W.”

When you look at his previous Week 1 history, he’s had some good and not-so-good moments. Last season against the Kansas City Chiefs he had a respectable game of 15 carries for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, he also fumbled the ball in the second half which helped change the direction of that game and eventually lead to a loss.

I believe Chubb will need to get the ball 15 to 20 times in this game and score at least a touchdown or two. Some have speculated that because the Browns have a new quarterback under center in Jacoby Brissett, they’ll have a difficult time running the ball in this game early because their opponent will stack the line and force Cleveland into a passing game.

The former Georgia Bulldog will have to get the help of his offensive line and use his talented skill set to make some hard-fought runs. I suspect he will get the job done on Sunday and the Browns will walk away with that elusive win in part because of Chubb’s efforts.
