In a recent interview former No. 1  overall pick of the Cleveland Browns Baker Mayfield threw shade at his former team.

After being selected first overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, quarterback Baker Mayfield broke the rookie touchdown record with the Cleveland Browns.

But after four seasons the team, and player, decided to part ways after the Browns acquired former Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Recently Mayfield was asked about his former team and in true Mayfield fashion, he threw shade at his former employer when he was asked about his old place.

"“What old place, Oklahoma? They are 6-5. {Reporter: No Cleveland}. That’s not my old place, I use to play there” -Baker Mayfield on his time with Cleveland"

This of course is not the first time this year that Mayfield tried to fire back at Cleveland after his trade. Going into the Week 1 matchup with the Browns Mayfield sold shirts for the event that included the phrase “off the leash.” Although, he later said the shirts were not his idea.

The interesting part of both events is that without Cleveland, Mayfield has not been able to maintain a starting job in Carolina having been benched again this week. With the Browns in 2020, under the guidance of Kevin Stefanski, he won 11 games, a playoff game, and looked like a pro bowl player.

However this season in Carolina he holds the worst QBR in the NFL with an awful rating of 17.8 by far the worst of his career. Mayfield continues to show that he will hold grudges if he feels disrespected and that truly moving on isn’t in his nature.
