The Cleveland Browns have done a good job re-building their roster but general manager Andrew Berry should still look to these 5 free agents in 2023

It wasn’t pretty, but the Cleveland Browns improved to 5-7 on Sunday with a win over the Houston Texans. Deshaun Watson made his debut and it was also the first game he played in 700 days.

Clearly, he was knocking the rust off and the coaching staff was trying to get a good look at what he could do. And as much as fans don’t want to hear this, that’s what the final five games will be about — getting things figured out for 2023 and beyond.

With that being the case, here’s a look at five pending free agents the Browns should consider signing in the coming offseason.

5. Cameron Fleming, Offensive Tackle

The Cleveland Browns offensive line has been one of the best in the NFL, even if their showing against Houston wasn’t elite. One major reason for that is the work of Bill Callahan, who is the most well-respected O-line coach in the NFL.

This offseason, Cleveland might need Callahan to continue to work his magic as they have two starters set for free agency in Ethan Pocic and Jack Conklin. Should they lose either, there will likely be a younger replacement — and Conklin might be the most likely to go since he can command a decent contract.

If so, James Hubbard will probably get a shot to prove he can start, but they’ll still need insurance in case he can’t handle it. One player who could fill that role is Cameron Fleming, who has nine years of experience with 56 starts and 106 career games. He’s not a star by any means, but he can get it done if called upon — and would be much more affordable than Conklin.
