3 winners (and just as many losers) from Browns' self-inflicted loss to Jets

The Cleveland Browns couldn't replicate their early-season magic in New Jersey's pouring rain. Some inclement weather made Sunday's game against the New York Jets a tough environment for both teams, but it wasn't the only thing that hurt the Browns.

Minkah Fitzpatrick's illegal hit on KC Concepcion took a big toll on the Browns' offense. The offensive line had its worst game of the season, and an unfortunate late-game turnover on special teams sealed the deal.

After three straight fourth-quarter comebacks, the Browns blew a fourth-quarter lead against the Jets and only have themselves to blame. That said, here are three winners and three losers from a tough loss that dropped Cleveland to 3-2 on the season.

Cleveland wasted several standout performances with mistakes it couldn't overcome against the Jets

Winner: Maliek Collins - DT

Collins was an absolute beast along the interior. With Mike Hall Jr. and Mason Graham out of the lineup, Collins answered the call by often penetrating through the middle of the offensive line and setting up camp in the Jets' backfield.

Collins had four total tackles and 1.5 sacks. He added a whopping 17 pressures and one quarterback hit, per Pro Football Focus.

Loser: Austin Barber - RG

The third-round rookie had been one of the Browns' best offensive linemen entering Week 5, but Barber had a tough time against the Jets, especially in pass protection. He got beaten time and time again, and he may have missed Tytus Howard after he left with an injury.

The rookie out of Florida gave up three sacks on as many pressures, and he was also called for a penalty. He should be better, and these growing pains are just a part of the equation with rookie linemen.

Winner: Quincy Williams - LB

Williams vowed to stick it to his former team, and he delivered. This was his best game as a Brown, and hopefully it will inspire him to keep the foot on the gas after also dominating in the win over the Steelers.

Williams was everywhere, logging seven solo tackles and three forced fumbles. He would've been the team's MVP if it weren't for a special teams turnover late in the game. He's making the contract he signed in free agency this offseason look like a big bargain.

Loser: Isaiah Bond - WR

Bond drew tons of buzz during training camp, and fans were eager to watch him take the field more often this season. It's safe to say that he didn't give the team what they needed after KC Concepcion's injury.

Bond led the team with 74 receiving yards, including a 30-yard bomb, but he was a drive killer. He had two crucial drops, including one in the end zone. That's not how you make the most of extended opportunities.

Winner: Carson Schwesinger

The reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year had a quiet first half, but he showed up and made an impact when it mattered the most, logging one sack and forcing a fumble.

Schwesinger has had a somewhat quiet start to the season by his standards, but that's just because he's already got everyone used to him doing much more. Even so, a bad game from Schwesinger is better than a good game by most linebackers.

Loser: Deshaun Watson

It took him nearly a month, but Watson is officially back on the losers list. While the weather and the offensive line didn't do him any favors, Watson did not play well.

Watson completed 15 of 33 passes for 155 yards and one touchdown. While he didn't turn the ball over, he took eight sacks, and some of those were on him for trying to extend plays that were never there.

This loss wasn't all on Watson, but he didn't look as sharp as in recent weeks.
