The Cleveland Browns set their sights on Texas A&M playmaker KC Concepcion late in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The talent and body of work were evident, but so was what was viewed as his fatal flaw — drops.
The speedy wideout dropped five, seven, and seven passes in his three collegiate seasons. While most of his supporters claimed that it was more concentration and focus than technique, it was still something for Browns fans to keep a close eye on.
Fast forward to today, and Concepcion's critics have gone radio silent.
The rookie has hauled in all 10 targets thrown his way so far. He did fumble once in the season opener while trying to pile up yards after the catch, but that wasn't entirely on him.

Concepcion has worked tirelessly on his hands since he entered the league. He drew rave reviews throughout training camp, making big play after big play regardless of coverage, and showing sure hands more often than not.
While Denzel Boston has stolen most of the headlines as Deshaun Watson's favorite downfield threat, Concepcion has quietly been the team's most efficient contributor on offense. Whether it is coming out of the backfield, setting up the offense on gadget plays, or making plays with his hands, he's been Todd Monken's primary weapon through the first two weeks of the season.
The Browns' offense is still a work in progress, and it has plenty of adjustments to make — particularly with the running game. Concepcion will be crucial for that, as his dynamic skill set makes him a dual threat defenses have to account for on every snap
Admittedly, Concepcion's drop issues and lanky frame may have been enough for teams to let him fall right into the Browns' lap at No. 24 overall. Even some Browns fans had serious doubts about whether he'd be able to deal with the physicality of the pros.
But make no mistake, Concepcion is tough as nails, proving from his preseason debut that he wouldn't shy away from contact and wouldn't be easily knocked off balance. That has continued through the first two weeks of the regular season.
The Browns' young playmakers have already shown glimpses of what they can do, and there's no reason to think it won't get better as the 2026 season goes on.
