KC Concepcion is one of the young players to watch for the Cleveland Browns this season. He was the first of two wide receiver selections by Cleveland in the spring, along with Denzel Boston. Both players appear to be dynamic weapons for the Browns to feature, and they had their moments in preseason.
In Concepcion's case, leading up to the draft and throughout the offseason, there was talk involving him cleaning up one key area of his game.
Concepcion's drops in college had been a topic of conversation, but he looks to be doing all he can to dispel that narrative at the next level. When asked about that critique during a recent media availability, Concepcion emphasized how the measures he has taken seem to be paying dividends.
"Before camp I was just with my trainer, catching every day, eyes to the tuck, and catching from many different angles. And ever since I got up here, I catch JUGGs fairly often. I just try and catch a football as much as I can."

To his credit, Concepcion was a heck of a collegiate playmaker. He hauled in 61 catches for 919 yards last season at Texas A&M, with nine of those going for touchdowns. In the two seasons prior, he registered 124 receptions for 1,299 yards and 16 touchdowns at North Carolina State.
But Concepcion had 19 drops over his final two seasons combined. Hence the questions some had about his viability in the NFL, along with concerns over him not having an imposing frame at 6 feet and 190 pounds.
Concepcion looked sharp in limited preseason action, however, which was encouraging. It's also refreshing to hear about the measures he's personally taking to maximize his chances to excel with the Browns.
The way things are shaping up, Concepcion could be a fan favorite in no time. He's an electric playmaker once he gets the ball in his hands, and let's not forget his potential to make hidden plays in the punt return game.
Concepcion is a dangerous player when he's in the open field. He just has to prove that he's going to make the catch first. If that plays out, the fun will really start with how gifted he is as a route runner and his outstanding abilities after the catch.
