Before the Cleveland Browns even took the field in Week 8, it was already a weird week for their most talked about player, Shedeur Sanders, who ironically doesn’t play. The rookie quarterback went through a full week of practice, then randomly popped up on the injury report on Saturday with back tightness. After going through a pregame workout on the field on Sunday, Sanders was officially ruled out for the Week 8 game against the New England Patriots.

Shortly after being named inactive, the rookie quarterback shared a black and white picture to Instagram of him interacting with Browns fans. Sanders didn’t add a caption or any words, but the picture certainly led to fans having a lot to say. The biggest assumption is that the rookie quarterback is about to be traded.

Shedeur Sanders increases trade speculation with latest social media post

With the November 4 NFL trade deadline approaching, its fair for fans to characterize the recent actions surrounding Sanders as suspicious. On Friday, the rookie was seen dancing at practice, seemingly having a good time. A day later, he was added to the injury report with the explanation that he woke up with back tightness. On Sunday, he was made inactive for Week 8, and shared the kind of post a player shares when they’re leaving a team.

Of course, this could all mean nothing, but these kinds of things also happen when a player is about to be moved to a new team. With several quarterback needy teams throughout the league, and Dillon Gabriel still starting for the Browns, Cleveland could be tempted to move one of its rookies.

The Browns haven’t given any indication that will actually happen. Instead, everything coming from the organization has been about how impressed the team is with the development of Sanders and how he will eventually be given an opportunity to start at some point this season. To be fair, though, those are also the kinds of things a team will put out about a player it wants to trade. Only time will tell if Sanders is still with the Browns after November 4.
