Here are the Big Plays, and some of the underlying things leading to them, for the 4th Quarter of Browns Vs Jaguars:

  •  Browns “go for it” on 4th down and don’t get it.
    • A play that I cannot explain and will wait to evaluate until later.
  • Huge run after catch by Andrew Hawkins leads to a huge 65 yard catch and run.
    • Empty backfield at the 5 yard line gave Browns a ton of space to work Hawkins over the middle.
  • Poor play calling and execution leads to a punt.
    • Right side of line getting destroyed.
    • Browns forced to punt after the huge Hawkins.
    • Punt is a touchback and a 10 yard penalty gives the Jags the ball at their 30, where Hawkins was tackled.
  • Browns force 3 and out.
    • Poyer fumbled punt at the 2 yard line.
    • Recovered by the Jaguars.
    • Worst play of the season for the Browns.
  • Next play Denard Robinson runs left for a touchdown.
    • Back breaker and Browns failed to maintain contain once again.
    • Jags 17 – Browns 6
  • Pressure up the middle leads to a tipped pass and interception.
    • Ball thrown behind Ben Tate and Tate slow getting head around on pass play.
    • 3 Browns turnovers on the game.
    • Ball at the 7 yard line with 5 minutes left.
    • Have to hold to a FG for any chance to tie.
  • Storm Johnson with a four yard touchdown run.
    • Jaguars 24 – Browns 6
  • Browns in no hurry when they get the ball back.
    • Looks like a give up with over 4 minutes left in the game.
    • Hoyer with bad throw to Travis Benjamin on third down.
    • Hoyer sacked on fourth down to end the game.
  • Game over.
    • Jags 24 – Browns 6

Summary

Just an ugly, ugly game by the entire offense. The special teams had their issues as well. The defense played okay but were put in a tough position with the limited offense. The offense looked like many expected at the beginning of the year. It doesn’t help that Sammy Watkins caught the game winning TD to win the game for the Bills today.

Going to take a little time to blow off some steam before writing more about this game. Hope you can do the same in a healthy way.

Go Browns!
