The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the news you need to know in order to keep up to date with your Cleveland Browns and the rest of the NFL

The NFL news cycle keeps turning and although the Cleveland Browns have yet to be involved in any of the real big news, they keep having their names pop up. On Thursday it was the expected, that the Browns will set up a meeting and private workout with quarterback Baker Mayfield.

They’re simply doing their due diligence here as they explore every option they can choose with the No. 1 and even the No. 4 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. There are rumors they aren’t enamored enough with any particular signal caller. That would mean Mayfield could even be a target at the fourth spot.

Of course that’s all speculation at this point as none of us knows for sure where general manager John Dorsey’s looking right now. What we do know, is that free agency is less than a week away. Teams aren’t having to wait for every available player though, as those released by teams are free to make visits.

One such player is Derrick Shelby, a defensive end who was recently cut by the Atlanta Falcons. That news and more can be found by scrolling down through our morning news links.
