The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, like how Hue Jackson removing the stripes actually improved the helmets

In the offseason we start to talks about some weird stuff. The latest is the stripes on the helmets of the Cleveland Browns.

This came up as head coach Hue Jackson removed the white and brown stripes down the middle of the helmet, and of course in doing so he said they had to ‘earn their stripes.’

While he surely stole that slogan from his days with the Cincinnati Bengals, it may be a good thing he did. Not because players will really be motivated by it, but because it looks kind of cool as an all-orange helmet.

Cleveland Browns: Kendricks ‘uprising’ quote proves culture change

Here Dan Justik liked how Mychal Kendricks said there was an ‘uprising’ in Cleveland. He feels like the team is going to win some games and that’s an exciting thing to hear from the players.

Hue Jackson Tries To Motivate Browns By Inadvertently Making Their Helmets Look Cooler — Samer Kalaf, DeadSpin

"Head coach Hue Jackson removed the helmet stripes as a motivational tactic—players who make the 53-man roster will earn them. (The team says this will extend into the preseason, but does that mean the Browns will play those four games with stripeless helmets? The only thing more Browns would be if the NFL forces them to return to regulation uniforms.)"

While Kalaf isn’t totally kind to the Browns in how he speaks about them, he’s right. The orange helmets without the stripes actually does look great. Maybe Hue stumbled upon a hidden talent as a fashion mogul?

Enough with the stolen slogans

With Jackson taking off the stripes, we re-visit a post from a few weeks back where Joel Cade begged for the team to quit stealing slogans.

Cleveland Browns: Rookie Denzel Ward right on track — Michael Johnson, NFL Spin Zone

"What he brings to the table is sheer athletic ability, feistiness and physicality needed from a cornerback in Gregg Williams’ system. Players like Samari Rolle, Nate Clements and Turmaine Johnson had career years under Williams. Likewise, Ward should flourish because of his similar skill-set."

Denzel Ward has been turning heads since getting to Berea. Browns fans are totally cool with that because a shut down corner is never a bad thing to have.

‘True Browns fans’ wanted for HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ — FOX 8 Cleveland

"People will be brought in for interviews on June 11 and/or 12; it will likely take place at the Berea training facility, according to the post. You must be at least 18 years old."
