Rumors about current New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. and the Cleveland Browns won’t die, so let’s just go out and trade for him already.

It seems like the rumors keep coming back to life, so why ignore them. Ever since the Cleveland Browns landed receiver Jarvis Landry they’ve been linked to his former teammate Odell Beckham, Jr.

Beckham, Jr. is still employed by the New York Giants but tensions have been high between him and the only pro team he’s ever played for. That’s led to the discussion about him needing a new home and pairing him with his former LSU teammate and good friend has made the rounds.

However, the Browns make sense for reasons beyond the bond Landry and OBJ share. Let’s look at why it makes sense for both sides.

More from Browns Rumors

For Beckham, it gives him a team with a stronger outlook in the future. No one can argue the players under center for the Browns are better than Eli Manning, but the younger of the Manning brothers is on his last leg.

For a receiver who is just 25 years of age, playing with a younger quarterback makes a lot of sense.

And we all know that Beckham and Baker Mayfield have already gotten the rumors going. The Browns recently shared a tweet that had Mayfield, Landry, and Beckham all working out together.

He’s also worked out with running back Duke Johnson and David Njoku. His familiarity with the Browns is a plus, but so too is the money they can give him.

Even with the moves they made, Cleveland has plenty of cap room and the No. 1 issue between the talented receiver and the Giants is the amount of money they can pay him. With the Browns, that’s not a problem and he would instantly make the team better.

That’s where it makes sense for the Browns. While they believe in the upside of their team, OBJ doesn’t have the checkered past of Josh Gordon and he’s got incredibly more to offer than Corey Coleman, who hasn’t been living up to his first-round status.
