Cleveland Browns News: Duke Johnson not happy with touches
By Dan Justik
The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news that you need to know, including Duke Johnson being frustrated with his lack of touches this season.
The Cleveland Browns put a lot of work into their running back room this season, including signing Duke Johnson to a three-year, $15.6 million extension.
Over the past two seasons, Johnson has been the best play-maker on the Browns offense. With a new offensive coordinator and better talent all around the offense, there was a belief that Johnson would become one of the best play-makers in the entire NFL this season.
Instead, Johnson has been unable to secure a solid amount of touches. This season, Johnson has rushed the ball 17 times for 75 yards. More known for his work as a pass catcher, Johnson has not seen many passes thrown his way, catching only ten passes for 91 yards.

"“He told me to just be more positive,” Johnson told cleveland.com. “Just focus on all the good. It’s not all bad. It’s not all good. You’re going to have some days when you’re not feeling so well. Just find a way to get through it.”"
As the season progresses and Johnson continues to not be used as often as he was last season, the snowball effect of negative feelings would cause Johnson to struggle. But having a leader like Tyrod Taylor remaining in the locker room is going to help prevent those types of things from happening.
Did Hue Jackson call Snoop Dogg a bandwagon fan?
Superstar rapper Snoop Dogg visited Browns practice on Sunday, but Browns head coach Hue Jackson took a subtle jab at the rapper by saying that people are going to want to jump on the team’s bandwagon now that they are having success.
"Be it on defense or special teams, rookie cornerback Denzel Ward continues to show he has a nose for the football, and in last Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens at FirstEnergy Stadium, those impactful plays proved to difference-makers."
The Browns were criticized for the selection of Denzel Ward at fourth overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, but Ward is proving all his doubters wrong this season. His performance so far this season has many believing he is the favorite for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
Browns to enshrine Joe Thomas’ snap streak this Sunday
Even after retiring this off-season, former Browns left tackle Joe Thomas remains a fan favorite. When the Browns enshrine his 10,363 consecutive snap streak this Sunday, it will surely draw a great fan reaction.
