By Dan Justik
The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including how there are still several questions despite being victorious.
The Cleveland Browns won their first game of the 2019 season after defeating the New York Jets 23-3. However, despite their win, there are still several questions about the Browns that could put them into trouble over the next several weeks.
Week 2 was a must-win game for the Browns because of their tough stretch of games over the next six weeks. The Browns will be facing multiple teams who made the playoffs next season, and their next five opponents have yet to lose in 2019.
If the Browns want to have the season they were expecting to have, they are going to need to clean up a lot of inconsistencies they showed on Monday night, and do so quickly.

Browns win, but questions remain with Rams coming to town – Dan Labbe, Cleveland.com
"But — and, yes, there’s a but — it’s a little bit of an uneasy feeling for the Browns coming out of this game. For as much as the Jets resembled the Browns from 2016 and 2017, there were stretches where this game was a slog for the Browns on the offensive side. The rhythm was off. There was little consistency."
The Browns may have one of the most talented teams in the NFL, especially on the offensive side of the ball. But if they cannot effectively use their weapons, then the talent means nothing. The Browns are going to have to find a rhythm on the offensive side of the ball and find an offensive identity to be the explosive offense they wanted to be.
Instant reactions after the Browns Week 2 victory over the Jets
Although it was a sloppy victory, it was a win the Browns needed before their difficult stretch over the next several weeks. There were several takeaways from the Browns win in New York, including how Myles Garrett is emerging as a top defensive player in the NFL.
"Of course, Baker Mayfield is the starter. But Garrett Gilbert is now the team’s No. 2 quarterback after it placed veteran Drew Stanton on injured reserve with a knee injury Monday. Gilbert will back up Mayfield against the New York Jets on “Monday Night Football” at MetLife Stadium."
Drew Stanton struggled during the preseason, which led many to believe Garrett Gilbert should have been named the backup quarterback. But after Stanton’s injury, Gilbert will get the chance for the rest of the season. Even though Stanton was not effective on the field, he will still play an important role as Baker Mayfield’s mentor.
