Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know

Not long ago, general manager Andrew Berry signed Kareem Hunt to a two-year extension, keeping him with the Cleveland Browns for the next three seasons. Doing so kept him and Nick Chubb together for a couple more seasons, keeping in-tact one of the most fearsome duos in the NFL.

Unfortunately, half that duo has been lost for the next several weeks as Chubb suffered an MCL injury. For Hunt, that means his role will expand in the coming games and he’s more than ready for the extra snaps.

Signed after being cut by the Kansas City Chiefs, Hunt joined his home-town team when he was at his lowest. Now, he’s feeling bad for his good friend but says he’s a “man on a mission,” who wants to prove he’s still one of the best in the game.

That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Browns’ Kareem Hunt: ‘I’m a man on a mission; I’m ready for the journey’ as he takes over until Nick Chubb returns — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"“I’m a man on a mission,” he said. “I didn’t get to play a full season last year or the year before, so I want to be able to finish out a full season and just remind everybody that I believe I can play with the best of the best and I’m up there with those guys. So, I’ve been working hard all offseason and just getting my mind right too — especially playing in my hometown, and what it will do for the community. You know, I love Cleveland.”"

Hunt also said that Nick Chubb is like a brother to him and that he and the rest of the running backs are going to go out there and get it done for him. Cleveland doesn’t only have the best running back stables, but they seem to be incredibly tight-knit as well. As bad as it is to lose Chubb, this team is still dangerous on the ground.

5 Reasons It’s Time to Believe in the Cleveland Browns — Kristopher Knox, Bleacher Report

"“This year is different, though. While the season kicked off with a blowout loss similar to last year’s opener, Cleveland has ripped off three wins since and has scored at least 34 points in each of them. This is far from a perfect team, but a year after the Browns were supposed to be good, it’s finally time to believe they are.”"

The biggest reason listed by Knox is that Kevin Stefanski is not over his head, which was not true of Freddie Kitchens. He’s also sold on the offensive firepower and approves of Baker Mayfield becoming a smart game-manager. These aren’t your normal Browns, and that’s a good thing.
