What throwback uniforms could the Cleveland Browns go with?

This season, the Cleveland Browns will be celebrating their 75th anniversary as a franchise. They will surely spend this season paying homage to the team that started in 1946 and one way they will be doing this is by wearing a throwback uniform for a couple of games in 2021.

Of course, we don’t know what that uniform will look like just yet since the team has not unveiled them — although they have teased us with a pretty sweet logo for the anniversary campaign.

That won’t stop us from guessing what the design will be and today’s featured article in the Daily Dawg Tags does exactly that as Ben Axelrod picks the three most likely throwback uniforms for Cleveland in 2021.

What will the Cleveland Browns’ 75th-anniversary uniforms look like? 3 potential options — Ben Axelrod, WKYC

"“Even if the Browns’ alternate uniform includes the team’s traditional orange helmet, Cleveland’s headwear could still change. From 1957-1960, the Browns wore their uniform numbers on their helmets — a look the team reprised fas an alternate from 2006-2008.”"

The numbered helmets are probably the most likely throwback that Axelrod throws out. He does mention the old-school white helmet but as long as the league keeps its current rules, this won’t be allowed. Now if the league did lighten up, that would be something to see.

Browns: If league relaxes helmet rule, team should go with this design — Chad Porto, Factory of Sadness

"“There is no word yet if the NFL will change the rule for 2021, but Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians suggested such an idea last March, that the NFL would be changing the rule. Arians then went on to suggest the team go and use the old creamsicle Buccaneers helmet as their alternate. For the sake of Tampa fans, let’s hope that’s not the case.”"

Porto also looks at the idea of the Browns using the white helmet and he seems to think the NFL could eventually bend on this rule. However, he also seems to think the creamsicle uniforms of the Buccaneers is a bad look, but hey, no one is perfect.

Why the Browns’ third-place schedule for 2021 is one of the NFL’s toughest — Scott Patsko, Cleveland.com

"“Despite those third-place matchups, the Browns’ 2021 schedule includes three of the six teams to win at least 12 games in 2020. Or, to look at it another way, the schedule includes two of the three teams to win at least 13 games.”"

Having to face the AFC West and NFC North kind of skewed the Browns third-place schedule, so once again, luck is not on the side of the Cleveland football team.
