Which players from the AFC West should the Browns target in free agency?

We are now halfway through our Cleveland Browns “pick-a-player” miniseries, and it’s time to round out the AFC. Our final division, the AFC West, contains the Los Angeles Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, and the Denver Broncos.

If you haven’t read any of the other pieces in this series, you can find them here on Dawg Pound Daily. We started with the AFC North, the Browns’ own division, then went to the AFC East, followed by the AFC South.

Just a refresher to those that have read the other three, or an introduction to new readers, in this series, I am the advisor to Browns General Manager, Andrew Berry. I pick out one player from each team in the division, in this case, the AFC West, who is set to hit free agency. Another thing to note, this is where I take somebody who played for the highlighted team last season, so no there won’t be an Eric Berry or a Justin Houston on this list.

This is in no way, and I can not emphasize that enough, a prediction of which players the Browns will choose to pursue. This list will be comprised of the four players that I, Nick Swanson, would pursue if I was in charge. This list doesn’t account for a player being franchise-tagged or re-signed. This list assumes that every player in the division that is set to become a free agent hits the open market and is open to signing.

We’ll go ahead and start with the Los Angeles Chargers.
