Can that Cleveland Browns defense get it done a third week in a row?

To say the Browns defense has been stellar the last couple of weeks is a huge understatement. Since I was a teenager and watching those Browns defenses of the 1980’s I haven’t been so excited to see what chaos they create for their opponent.

The talent of the defense has really taken center stage the last two weeks. The abilities of rookie linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah have been spectacular. He was a huge steal for the Browns in the draft.

Veteran cornerback Troy Hill and safety John Johnson along with cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams are certainly starting to show their skill sets. I hadn’t watched a Browns game in recent memory where there were so many passes deflected in a game like last Sunday.

It’s nice that Browns defensive coordinator Joe Woods is starting to let his players play the game they need to. If that style of play continues Browns fans, then we might all be celebrating a Super Bowl victory in Los Angeles this next February, where the Super Bowl is scheduled to take place. Part of getting there is winning the game this next Sunday.

If the Browns defensive lineman like Myles Garrett, Malik McDowell, and Takk Mckinley can get to the quarterback, Justin Herbert, and create chaos and alter his game in the backfield then the Browns will win the game. That pressure will be important to helping the secondary out. It created enough pressure that forced a late-game interception in last week’s game that helped secure the Browns victory.
