Eagles' Moro Ojomo is exactly the kind of trade target Browns should be calling about

This would be a solid move.

The Cleveland Browns have been playing without their best defensive player. Mason Graham's breakout season is on pause after he suffered a knee injury early in Cleveland's Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, and while he will be back at some point this season, he's still considered week-to-week.

Mike Hall Jr. also suffered an ankle injury in that game and had to miss Sunday's loss to the New York Jets. He should be back sooner, but these injuries stressed the Browns' lack of depth at defensive tackle, even with Maliek Collins and Adin Huntington balling out.

Given Andrew Berry's ties to the Philadelphia Eagles, perhaps the Browns' GM should get his old boss on the phone to inquire about Moro Ojomo. He's unlikely to stay in Philly long-term, and he'd be a joy to watch in Cleveland.

The Browns should take advantage of the Eagles' tough cap situation

For years, Howie Roseman and the Eagles have pushed money into the future, and the chickens are about to come home to roost. Philadelphia is in a financial disaster right now and might be forced to make some moves.

The Eagles already spent big on defensive linemen Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, so as good as Ojomo has been, they won't be able to keep everyone. Ojomo will be a free agent at the end of the season, and the Browns should have more than enough financial flexibility to add a player of his caliber.

The 25-year-old was a late-bloomer, but he's become a steady contributor to Vic Fangio's defense. He's still a work in progress in terms of finishing plays as a pass rusher, but he's put up 13 pressures, including 11 hurries, this season from the interior.

Ojomo's athleticism as a gap-shooting specialist pops off the charts. He knows how to use his quick first step and long arms to disrupt opposing blockers, and he's excelled in both a 3-technique and a 4-technique role.

The Browns already have a budding star in Graham, and both Collins and Hall should continue to have big roles. Even so, this opportunity is just too good to pass on right now.

Kalia Davis, Adin Huntington, and Sam Kamara are all solid depth pieces, but they're not difference-makers. Ojomo is just entering his prime, and the Browns could get him at a discount because of the Eagles' financial situation.

The Browns have a surplus of draft capital for the stacked 2027 NFL Draft, including three fourth-round picks and two fifth-rounders. One of each should probably be more than enough to pry Ojomo away from the Eagles ahead of next month's trade deadline.
