Halftime Adjustments, unfortunately, no longer exists. Long snapper Ryan Pontbriand (it’s not going to be often that I mention his name) has been named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster as a “need player,” one player selected from any position to fulfill a need.  He is the kind of player that is doing his job right if you never hear his name, so it is refreshing to hear he has been selected.  Browns fans know he deserves it. I may have said this, but the Browns have offered quarterback Derek Anderson a three-year contract. Shows what I know, but I still get the feeling that Phil Savage didn’t think he would get enough in return for Anderson and decided to bring him back. Plus, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have two legitimate quarterbacks, allowing Brady Quinn to learn every facet of the offensive system from the bench instead of while he watches a corner steak down the sidelines for a pick-six after an errant throw. At 6’3″, 233 lbs, OLB Dan Connor out of Penn State is getting plenty of buzz in many mock drafts.  Some people have him pegged as a top-ten pick while others have him falling somewhere in the mid to late first round.  The hype surrounding him is that many compare him to another highly-touted prospect out of Penn State – Paul Posluszny. While he is a bit undersized, he is known for being a ball hawk, which will be important.  Connor is a strong tackler who excels at creating tackles for loss. Seven Browns have made the coveted 2007 All-Unwanted Team. The case for not signing Jamal Lewis to a long-term deal. Even the AFL doesn’t want Peter Warrick, the former Florida State standout strongly considered by the Browns for the #1 overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. The battle for Romeo Crennel’s soul – okay, so it’s just contract negotiations – is still raging on.
