2008 Roster Set

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

They’ve seen what they can do both in games at during practices and now the Browns coaching staff has cut the teams roster to the final 53, and some change (there are a few guys on the IR, and PUP lists).  Anyways here is your 2008 Cleveland Browns, IMO not too many surprises here and I have to agree with pretty much all of the decisions. QB (3) Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, Ken Dorsey RB/FB (5) Jamel Lewis, Jason Wright, Jerome Harrison, Lawrence Vickers, Charles Ali  WR (5) Braylon Edwards, Donte Stallworth, Joshua Cribbs, Paul Hubbard, Syndric Steptoe TE (4) Kellen Winslow, Steve [...]

Witnessing a Fourth Exhibition Game in Person…

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

…is painful, I will say that.  However, I had the luxury of watching the Browns take on the Chicago Bears last night in person, wrapping up what has been a particularly painful preseason.  And speaking of luxury, I was able to watch the game from one of the suites in Cleveland Browns Stadium.  Naturally, this meant free food and drinks (including the dessert cart) and a mad dash at the end of the game to stuff our pockets with as much free stuff as possible.  That is all well and good, but it is certainly not the main point of [...]

Battered Browns Taking On Lions

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: None Yet

Today at 4 p.m., the Browns will take on the Detroit Lions at Ford FIeld.  The biggest headline going into the game will be Brady Quinn as he takes over the starting job while Derek Anderson recovers from a mild concussion he sustained in the last preseason debacle against the Giants.  This is certainly not going to be much of an indicator of any sort of progress the Browns have made this off-season, considering the rash of injuries plaguing the team recently. As much as we want to make this a big story, I wouldn’t get too excited about seeing [...]

New Jersey Scheme

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

In tonight’s game against the New York Giants (who actually play in New Jersey, haha get it), the Browns will go with a new jersey scheme. In actuality the team has had this new option since 2006, when they added the gray face mask. The team will wear all brown pants along with the white uniform. I’m not sure how much I will like these new uniforms but a few players have already expressed their liking of them, Joshua Cribbs said “I think the new brown pants and socks mixed with our traditional jersey and helmet is an exciting new [...]

Long Overdue Stuff

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: None Yet

Hey everyone, well it’s been over a week and I apologize for no new posts (I’ve been out of town and just recently got back). With that being said here we go with some new stuff… Both rookies LB Beau Bell and TE Martin Rucker are going to miss some time in the coming weeks with injuries they sufered the past week to 10 days. As I predicted a little over a week ago the Browns and Gary Baxter did end their time together when the team terminated his contract, best of luck to Gary it’s a shame that he [...]

Braylon’s Boo-Boo: Out Two Games?

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Looks like Braylon Edwards’ boo-boo could keep him out two preseason games. From Cleveland.com: Browns receiver Braylon Edwards was hospitalized Saturday night at the Cleveland Clinic after having a cut in his right foot repaired with stitches and could miss the next two exhibition games. He was released Sunday, but did not practice in Berea. Edwards will probably be held out of action while the stitches are in, meaning he could miss exhibition games against the Giants on Aug. 18 and at Detroit on Aug. 23. Pretty soon, those stitches will be out. For now, however, let’s throw a superhero [...]

Browns/Jets Recap

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Well the Browns fell last night 20-24 to the Jets but, hey it’s only pre-season so who cares right? Anyways lets take a look at the good, the promising, and the not so good (we’ll be doing this throughout the season, so keep an eye out after each game). The Good Derek Anderson…4-5, 20 yards, 1 TD. Yeah the stat line doesn’t jump out at you but DA looked on his game tonight and would have played more if not for the severe weather. 1st team o-line… The o-line was great they gave the QB’s time in the pocket and [...]

The First 11 Mins.

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well, thanks to mother nature, our beloved Browns have gone to a weather delay in the pre-season opener.  However with that being said I thought I’d take this time to give my two cents on what I’ve seen in the first 11 mins. The D-line looks, sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better.  I think I saw them stuff the run a few time on the Jets two series. The offense is picking up where they left off from last season, I mean Jamel Lewis had an 11 yard run on the first carry, and they moved the ball very easily. Donte Stallworth and [...]

That Guy Who Won’t Go Away…

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: None Yet

…Well he (Brett Farve) was just traded to the Browns opponent for tomorrow’s game, the New York Jets. What remains to be seen though is if he is on the Jets sideline for tomorrow’s game or not, I have a sneaking suspicion that he won’t play however. Now, as a football fan, I have been sick of this story the past few years every time Farve pulled his “debating retirement” trick, then when I thought that I would not have to endure it any more, he pulls this fiasco of a stunt.  Well I we know that John Madden will [...]
